OMG! It's November!

I can't believe it's November, my rogues. I've been quite focused on the election, but it--'til now--has seemed SO far away that I neglected watching the dates click by on the calendar...and wow! We're there. We're here. It's November. 2 November, in fact. I didn't even honor the month yesterday except for spending nearly my entire day in the backyard.

Now, you all know that I am not a person to get involved in politics or discussions of same. I tend to be almost blindly Democrat because of my 20-20 fear of pretty much all things Republican. But this election has changed my involvement--and my investment--in the political machine. I NEED a Black President. America needs a Black President. You can bet that I will be holding a vigil Tuesday night as the votes begin to be tabulated--and I urge you to do so, too.

People say "Pray for America." This is one occasion when I would agree with that advice. Do whatever your heart leads you to do: Pray, meditate, send positive thoughts into the Cosmos, whatever. It's just THAT important.

Oklahoma is a 'red' state. I've heard there is NO chance Obama will win here, and since Oklahoma isn't one of the few states to split its electoral votes, it's likely McCain will get all of our States'. But this is a battle for precedent. If Obama has a strong showing in Oklahoma, it will spell HOPE and promise for a changing tide. I would encourage you to do whatever you can to influence the voting adults in your lives to do the right thing and vote Obama.

I want to plan for our Friday meeting...but let's say for now that we WILL meet--and let's wait 'til after the election to devote brain power to its planning.

Heart12,

Easter

Slightly frightening?

The last election made me cry.
For that matter, so did the one before that. Although that was more because I was eleven and my color-the-map-according-to-red-and-blue -states for Mrs. Baker's class turned into a disaster after the Florida fiasco.

It also really sucks that you guys aren't 18. Especially Wade, who missed by like less than two weeks.
