2 of my favs

You can barely make me out--I'm seated to Tyra's right...oh, well.

How many people will be in town this Friday--and available to Rogue? Let's get a plan set in a hurry; the holidays can get busy, so people need plenty of lead-time.

Thank you to Joe & KT for the help yesterday. Now, if I can just get all the little messes tidied up...

Sighting! & Proposition

Well, it was bound to happen. Beyonce' and I were spotted today at Emporio Armani. Anyhow, I was giving a speech (seen in my right hand) about how amazing B's new album I am...Sasha Fierce is. That's when I realized that I didn't need a speech--I could speak from my heart. And, in sum, here's what I had to say: B's Disc 1, "I am..." features a mature selection of ballads that are the heart and soul of her musical style. On "I am..." B's evolution in songwriting is featured especially in the songs "Halo" and "Satellites". As for Disc 2, well, she has let Sasha Fierce out of the bedroom, and I'm not sure how I feel about that--but it's hella good for my boiz. They finally get to see what I've been enjoying for almost a year now. Anyhow, check out her track featuring Missy Elliott...and don't miss Video Phone--see if YOU can figure out what she's talking about: You know what I'm sayin'?"

In completely unrelated news, are there any strong, willing backs available this weekend to help me do some work around mi casa? I'll pay you cash--for reals--say...$8/hr? No lie! I am having a "viewing" of my home next Monday, and I've got a lot I'd like to get done between now and then...and I don't really want to call in favors from friends. Lemme know.

OH, and by "viewing" I mean I have some of my new colleagues coming over, and I want the place looking HOTT.

Happy Birthday to Me!

36. That doesn't sound so old, you know? It sounds pretty damn good, really. Although I tend to favor 'odd' numbers, there's something satisfying about 36. 6 is the double of 3. It's an even age in an even year--on an even day. It sounds right.

It's early; the sun is just now showing over my house--I can see its light at the top of the house behind mine. The air is crisp; I think we got a frost. That would be super because I'm afraid I'm working on getting a sinus infection from all the mold growing in the leaves.

As for Rogue this week, let's meet at 15th Street again. I really like that place's vibe.

Brainspace

Well, I now have the brainspace to think about planning this week's meeting. As always, I'd love to meet in a park, but I'm not sure what the weather is going to be like...let's PLAN, then, to meet at...15th St Coffee House? And if the weather is pretty, we can go to Woodward instead.

Let's all try to bring poetry. I know I have a couple banked. It'd be cool if we each had 2 or 3 like the old days...

Heart12, and welcome to the future.

OMG! It's November!

I can't believe it's November, my rogues. I've been quite focused on the election, but it--'til now--has seemed SO far away that I neglected watching the dates click by on the calendar...and wow! We're there. We're here. It's November. 2 November, in fact. I didn't even honor the month yesterday except for spending nearly my entire day in the backyard.

Now, you all know that I am not a person to get involved in politics or discussions of same. I tend to be almost blindly Democrat because of my 20-20 fear of pretty much all things Republican. But this election has changed my involvement--and my investment--in the political machine. I NEED a Black President. America needs a Black President. You can bet that I will be holding a vigil Tuesday night as the votes begin to be tabulated--and I urge you to do so, too.

People say "Pray for America." This is one occasion when I would agree with that advice. Do whatever your heart leads you to do: Pray, meditate, send positive thoughts into the Cosmos, whatever. It's just THAT important.

Oklahoma is a 'red' state. I've heard there is NO chance Obama will win here, and since Oklahoma isn't one of the few states to split its electoral votes, it's likely McCain will get all of our States'. But this is a battle for precedent. If Obama has a strong showing in Oklahoma, it will spell HOPE and promise for a changing tide. I would encourage you to do whatever you can to influence the voting adults in your lives to do the right thing and vote Obama.

I want to plan for our Friday meeting...but let's say for now that we WILL meet--and let's wait 'til after the election to devote brain power to its planning.
