Christmas Eve

It's Christmas Eve, ya'll (<- owing to last night's viewing of Britney Spears' videos) !

Last night's party was amusing if small. But that's cool; the holiday season gets busy and people's schedules often have heavy demands put on. What I would like to start thinking about is how we're going to wrap the final semester of Rogue. Is there something permanent/memorable we could do? Fundraise and a get a plaque at Oxley? Make something out of cement and smuggle it into Zink? I want some ideas.

I hope everyone enjoys some good, old-fashioned quality time with family and friends over the holidays. Bond, damn it! It's good for you. And love!

2sday Potluck/VeryRogueChristmas

Greetings and Salutations!

We're almost there: The Very Rogue Christmas Potluck! It will be at my house on Tuesday night, 12/23, starting at 6:00p.

What's covered: Coffee, pop, and plates/cups/flatware.

What I'll provide for the Potluck: Well, this sort of depends on what you guys bring. If you guys bring side dishes, snacks, desserts, etc., I will come up with a simple main course. So, in that vein, post what you want to bring, and we'll try to create a menu.

Please observe: Last time we tried potluck, we...FAILED. If memory serves, people didn't arrive at the same time, so items were missing...and people changed their pledges at the last minute, so the meal didn't make much sense. Let's try to do better...???

I expect, as has been the case of late, that we'll be a small group. Can someone be sure that Bailey and Brooke know about the party? Everyone else comes here to check (and by everyone, I mean Casey, KT, Joe and me).

Snow Day! ...snow day?

In the spirit of an unexpected (sort of--my dad has predicted this for over a week) day off, I am cleaning out kitchen cabinets and planning on decorating the tree. These things true, I will be updating the site throughout the day with strange objects I've uncovered (some of which may become RogueGifts at the party) in my cabinets--some of which have recesses to which the light of day has been denied for as many as ten years! Exciting? EXCITING!

First weird find is a partial box of Dixie cups. I think these hail to about 4-6 years ago when I hosted a faculty party that featured a "white trash toast at midnight"--beer in dixie cups.

I also uncovered, vintage-my-childhood, Incredible Hulk thermos. No lunchbox. Just thermos. Huh? These could make excellent RogueGifts.

Can somebody say PARTY?!

KT wrote down the date for our VeryRogueChristmas party--but I don't remember when we slated it. Was it a Tuesday? We need to get that firmed up.

As for this Friday, I hope everyone is available to meet and read. Let's do the 15th St Coffee House again. It's cozy.

We have $70Rogue left. Keep that in mind while we plan our Christmas party. It might be time for PotLuck so we'll have a wee bit of $Rogue left for spring events and our graduating rogues' gifts...
