YERPing Success

Hi All,

Thanks to KT, Joe, Casey, and Bailey, YERP was a great success! The hiking in Redbud Valley couldn't have been better (unless I'd have listened to KT & Joe and NOT taken the long route back to my car to get Gatorade), the SplashPad was amazing as always, thrift store outfits reigned (KT--Pentacostal Insurances Salesperson, Joe--the Reno911 cop in too-short shorts, Casey--Salvation Army worker/Crime Stopper in khaki/white checkered pants & red visor, and Bailey--Sunday dress from 1994 featuring quilted knit and daisies...I shudder at the memory), pizza was awesome, and firefly watching and the sacrificing of defunct rogues to the gods of S'mores and fire was stupendous.

Now...Paloma, Brooke, and Margaret: What gives? We called you all from the parking lot, awakening 2 of you, presumably, and were unable to catch the third. Explanations are in order. I mean, YERP is a pretty big deal in RogueLand and something that's been on the calendar for a month (which is not typical RogueStyle).

To Joe and Bailey: Safe travels!
To the rest: See you Friday!

YERP

Oh, man. We gotta talk. There's a prediction of rain (not huge, but 30%, I think) on Saturday. I foresee our needing Plans A & B...and maybe C. Let's get these hammered out; feel free to make suggestions...

Plan A: Meet @ Sears around 1:00p with a drink, snack, bugspray/sunblock and a change of clothes. We'll go to Redbud Valley for hiking and inspiration. After, we'll go to Oxley and/or the SplashPad in Mohawk. Bring frisbees, soccer balls, kites--whatever you might want to play with in a big, wide open space. Around 4:00p we'll depart for a thrifting excursion. I'm thinking of a kind of game like this: $5.00 each to re-outfit yourself...best outfit (voted on by peers) gets a dollar store surprise! 5:30ish we arrive at my house for movie & dinner followed by s'mores and lightning bug watching in the park.

...what to do for movie and dinner?...

Plan B: Alternate beginning due to weather--I NEED SOME HELP HERE, GUYS. What would you want to do from 1-5:30ish if the weather keeps us indoors?

Plan C: Nix the first half of the plan; pick up at 4:00p with a thrifting excursion and carry on with original plan.

It's Wednesday already; we need to get the plans set before we meet Friday so we can discuss particulars. And did I read that you want to meet at 15th St. this week? Works for me. What time?

Friday the Thirteenth

You guys seem rather undecided in the previous post's comments as to when you want to meet tomorrow. Also, I think you DO need a rainy-day back up plan.

Let's get both of these settled ASAP so people can alert their rides. I can help out with rides, btw--just let me know.

Rogue Friday--alums welcome!--6 May

I'm posting from alongside the Embudo River in Dixon, NM. Sadly, :( , I will have to leave this place tomorrow to return to my non-arid home. But I'll be back in a couple of weeks, so I shan't complain much...

As for Rogue, we've got a meeting to have this week! Alumni are welcome since it's the first Rogue of the month. From what I've seen of what's been said, the best time to meet is 1:00p @ Zink.

So it shall be!

Heart12,
