29 June Rogue

Baby, can YOU stop the rain?

I got pelted with some big fat droplets today; it was rather unexpected and fun--beats hell out of getting pelted with droplets of Budweiser! Did I mention someone flung a beer bottle (part full) at me while I was walking my dog one evening recently? Thank God for these ninja reflexes I've honed so razor sharp!

Shall we schedule another rainy-day venue for this Friday's Rogue? Any ideas for a new place? 15th St. and Gypsy have both worked out well for us the last couple of weeks...

KC has requested a 4:00p start time, and that's fine by me.

My request: Please (everyone) comment your intent regarding coming this Friday. Even if you can't come every time we meet, you CAN keep in touch with us through this forum; I miss you when you're gone, queridos!

Summer's 1st Days...

It's nearly officially summer--and in true Oklahoma form, we'll be left to drip-dry from 2 weeks of rain in a long stretch of humid sunny days of mid-90s temps. Or this is what the weather dudes are saying as of this a.m.

...this just in: my coffee tastes like dirt today.

So for Friday--Gypsy, eh? Works for me. I liked that place. Oh, and KT: Sears called and told me that they'd give your job to a west-Tulsa-dwelling Latina if you don't go in and apply.

After last Friday's volley of poetry between Jessie & me, I'll hope that you'll all have a couple of things to read this week--or, in the case of our painter(s?), something to read AND a canvas or 2.

Did I mention this week's theme is mahogany?

Riverside Reading

OK. It was discussed and decided at last Friday's meeting at the COTU/Gypsy that we'd meet riverside this week. The coffee house on 15th will be our rain option.

Now--we need to decide a time and specific location for our meeting. I do not know RiverParks well at all. I basically know where the ped. bridge is...so I will leave it to you who know more of the park system to help select a meeting point. As for time...it's Jessie's b-day, so she's got plans and company coming in. Can we accommodate? If we meet at 1 or 2p would that be early enough, Jessie? Shout out. And would that help you at all, Suzanna? I have standing Friday shopping plans w/ my mom (garage sales--duh!) through lunch-ish...

Let's set this plan.

(Oh, and Raul WAS in Mexico like Jessie suggested; he's back and still employed w/ US Cellular.)

Friday 6/8 Meeting

Copied comment from previous post:

let's settle the details for COTU/gypsy. (and katie--i can give you a lift.) shall we caravan? semi-obscure locales might make delivery hard on rogueparents, so i'm thinking we should caravan from...Borders or some place central? 3:00?
4:42 AM

As far as I'm concerned this is still the plan--meet at Borders on 21st & Delaware-ish @ 3:00p. We'll go to the COTU from there, then on to Gypsy. KT: I'll be by your place around 2:45p.

I am poetry poor (1 semi-finished piece as of now) AND my printer's out of ink, but I'll see what I can do to manage a couple of things.

Lovely day. Lovely, lovely day. Enjoy!

Summer @ Last

Well, it's official.

And I'm thrilled.

It's summer--so we are no longer BoD-bound. We will continue to meet weekly, but your absence or lack of poetry won't doom you. I do hope, however, that with extra time you will NOT slack off from writing.

Our summer meeting time is flexible; we'll probably default to a 3:00ish or 4:00ish time frame for starting, but we can certainly meet earlier if people's job schedules get too complicated for afternoon venues.

For this week, post your preferences for reading locales. We haven't done Woodward in a while. Zink is still a fav. ...ideas?
