Something Rogue Sometime Soon

...I was thinking: Rogue goes to Incredible Pizza = ?

Maybe the drive-in?

Florida?

Next week there's Tina's party on Tuesday & Raul's show on Wednesday (6p), but we need to slate something rogue sometime soon. Jessie leaves the country next Wednesday. Maybe we need to plan something for this upcoming Sunday...?

Shout out.

Success!

Well, I am delighted to report that YERP was a great success. It was nice to be together as a larger group again! And the summer is young. We can do lots. Probably the next things we should focus on are Tina's party & Raul's show. They follow each other, Tina's being 6/6 and Raul's on 6/7. They're not official roguevents, but I think many of us will want to attend...so start thinking on those things.

Also, I think we should create a drive-in calendar. Let's look into what movies are slated to run and pick some good ones ahead of time.

Happy summer, all! I'm off to my garage sales...

YERP!

Garage-Sale-Style Bitch me says, "If you haven't replied as to whether you're going to be at YERP, you suck. And you'd darn well better have your poetry with you and ready to photocopy if you ARE there. That means it needs to either be neatly written in a dark ink or typed."

Nice me says, "I want you all to be at YERP. I want us to have fun selecting poetry and making up our special edition Rogue."

What say you?

Rogue Graduates = Rograduates

It's official: We've graduated some Rogues! Jennie, congratulations! Katrina, congratulations! Tina, congratulations! Raul, congratulations!

I'm so proud of you all and love you very much! Starting now you can call me "Michael" if you so desire. Of course, I think even I would be more comfortable with "Easter" but whatever.

*weepy eyes*

I really am very proud of you.

Rograduates! The first ever!

GS Stuff & YERP

OK. Katie brings up a good point. We need to get the rest of the garbage--ahem--garAGE sale stuff out of her storage room. I'm thinking...Tuesday--right after school? Katie, will that work for your mom? Also, we now need a plan for YERP. We need to tell Jessie's family what we'd like to do so they can confirm or deny. This week we need to pick our 3 poems for the rogues-only copies of Rogue--OK, we need to at least narrow down our choices to 5ish. You all can work helping each other select the top 3 in the early hours of YERP. Please just have the 5 or so you select either neatly written/photocopiable or typed and ready to go so that when everyone has his/her 3 picked, we can go directly up to the UPS Store and run copies. For a cover, I'm thinking inexpensive paper folders with brads--we can decorate the outsides. Rogue has money for these things. (I LOVE THAT!)

Finally, I need certain commitments from everyone for YERP. Jennie, Raul, Tina, Katrina, Deena, Jessie, KC, Katie, Joe, Wade...who'm I leaving out? (btw, YERP is this upcoming Friday, 5/26--starting probably somewhere around 2 or 3p and ending sometime later)

I've got scads of things to do, so I'm off.

Difficulties!

Ack! At last! A real post. And yet it's nearly midnight! On a school night...what am I thinking?

So...tomorrow, Friday, we will meet in my room, travel to Katie's house, gather clothes, go to Clinton Elementary, donate them, and then proceed onward to...???...until time for B & N. Shall we SoB? I've got nothing to read, I think. Anyhow, it's going to be a long afternoon of donating clothes and picking poetry (for the publication), but it'll be a super great bonding time. Hope to see you all there (except Tina, Jessie, and Katrina--all of whom have other gigs).

Grand Total...

Today's grand total for the garage sale sales is...$317.74. Woo-hoo! Can you believe it?

OK. This Friday we've got our B & N reading @ 7:40p. Between after school and then we should get our poetry ready for the mini-print edition. Any not in attendance should leave their selections with us ahead of time so we can mock up a version. Ideas?
Also, I would like for us to award our "scholarships" after school Tuesday if that works for everyone.
You guys did an amazing job, and those of you who were there to close down the sale, well let me just say, "Wow" because that was a TON of work. On that note, we've got much to retrieve from Katie's spare room. Carloads. We need to orchestrate its prompt removal.
Carloads.
And finally, to those of you who suffered the wrath of my being a raging bitch...sorry 'bout that, but there's just something about slothful capable young men that makes me a little testy.

At last: The Poets' Garage Sale

It's 6:54a on the morning of our first garage sale. I'm excited! Please be sure to let people know about our sale when you see them today. And if you've still got things at home to bring to the sale, by all means, bring 'em!

Our goal is $126. We've already made $5 I think. And I expect by noon we'll be sitting pretty. But it's all got to go, so bring your creative sales techniques!

See you there.

The tying up of loose ends...

Alright. This weekend is to be the tying up of loose ends. The garage sale is set for Sat. The ad is in the paper. We need to focus on making signs and getting things priced. Here's a schedule (pending Katie's mom's OK):

Thursday: 5:00 - ? Pricing & Sign-making.
Friday: 4:30 - ? If needed, pricing. If not, SoB. Afterward--set out garage sale signs.
Saturday: 8:00a - ? Shifts of work for the garage sale.

Shifts: 8:00a - 10:00a
10:00a - 12:00p
12:00p - 2:00p
2:00p - close (around 3:30 we'll pack up everything and start wrangling it to Goodwill)

Come and stay all day if you like!

I would like for us to think about doing something for the people who have contributed goods to sell, including the following: Mr. Hammond, Mrs. Wissen, Mrs. Bradshaw, Mrs. Campbell, Rogue families, and...um--others-ish. Ideas?

Sign up for shifts--and if your family hasn't made its donation...get on with it! Like NOW.

why ee are pee

So...YERP. Friday 5/26 could work. If you want to start it earlier than, say, 5:00p, you'll definitely need to find a different venue (and I think Jessie said her mom has offered their place...).

Something I would like to do eventually (esp. for the seniors but for everyone, in truth) is compile a mini-publication of Rogues-only poetry. If everyone picked several favorites, we could go to the UPS Store (where we pre-bought 1000 copies) and print 10 copies of each poem and make a compilation of our special stuff that we could then put into folders at the YERP. We could even have folder-decorating as part of the YERP event. Ideas?

I just reread that...does it make sense?

Well, here's hoping for a dry weekend. I realllllly want to have this garage sale. Remind me to check weather.com tomorrow to see what's predicted. So far, the site has been reliable. Meanwhile, if you haven't culled out some goodies for the sale, GET ON IT. My parents sent me with another carload today...they're totally loving this opportunity to clear crap out (good, sellable crap of course).

I can't believe it's May. What happened to April?

Really.

Yo momma sez...

70% chance of rain Saturday. This combined with few people's availability to price tomorrow night brings me to this conclusion: Rogue Garage Sale Postponement, ver. 2.0.

Good Lord. Will we EVER sell our sh*t?

Yes. Yes, we will. But not this weekend.

...so anyone up for an SoB tomorrow? I've got a thing or two.

Big Heart Twelves for all of our Rogues going to Prom. Just remember: CONDOMS DON'T WORK. EVER. THE END. (runs screaming from the ex-football player-turned-abstinence-preaching "motivational" speaker)

By the way, I'm now thinking that for part of YERP I should definitely give my own--and largely contradicting--motivational speech. Can I get a heck yeah?

Oh, weather

I don't know, guys. Does anyone have any brilliant ideas for an INDOOR sales venue for our stuff? Hopefully the rain that is currently predicted for the upcoming weekend will give us a window of dry for Saturday. I really want to get the stuff sold and out of Katie's place. I guess it's a matter of waiting patiently since it IS springtime, the notorious season of storm.

So I was reflecting yesterday on the success of BaTSoRP, and I was thinking we should definitely plan a YERP. Heck yeah, YERP.
