Me, My Walker, the Virgin, and Dial-up Internet

Greetings Rogues,

Oh, it feels good to be in contact--or sort of back in touch. I don't know how often I'll suffer using my parents' dial-up internet, but it seemed a good choice tonight, as it IS a rogue reading night after all. I hope you dutifully met and read...

Things here are progressing well. I have a nurse who comes daily to change my wound dressings, and I have a physical therapist who comes several times per week to help me regain the use of my legs. Thanks to KT's uber generous gift of the Virgin table runner (that belonged to her grandmother), my walker is bedecked with great Catholic garb which invariably raises eyebrows when the medical professionals show up.

While I have NO idea as to when I will be recovered enough to meet with you guys, I am loosely projecting I might be far enough along by early March. I don't know when I'll be back at school full-time...I'm guessing it could be in that same time frame...or later. My surgeon will decide when to release me, and I don't even see him to have stitches/staples removed until next Thursday afternoon. He MIGHT hazard a guess at that time based on how I'm doing, but...?

Anyhow, I just wanted to get back here and say something--and I truly hope you're all doing well and are living each day of good health as the blessing it is.

Heart 12,

Easter

morning things...

Yo,
We have access to Easter's room in the mornings now, so anyone who wants to come up early and make/hang up posters is welcome. I'll be there around 8 tomorrow and I think Joe said he would to...so, it'll be a party...maybe...Posters can also be hung after school if that easier for you guys. Basically whenever you have time, put 'em up.

Also, a few of us were thinking an early meeting for EVERYONE this week. Mainly to bring the new Rogues more up to speed. I think we might have sort of thrown them into all these preparations without answering any questions they might have...Good idea, yes or no? We also need to discuss at some point visiting English classes before next week, so we would need to have a meeting where everyone can attend and get that info.

When is good for you guys?

RogueNight Plans As Discussed Today

Word diggity,

K, I figured a new post should happen asap so we have all our information in a central location...

So have some dates!:

January:
14 - 25 is poster week. All submissions are due the 25. Wade will ask around his English dept. connections for info about the 21st, if we can get into classrooms and what not.

February:
By the 8th we will want to have all our submissions confirmed and ideally it would be great to have a mock up shortly after this. I'm thinking round tabling on the 8th? Maybe even the 9th, which is the Saturday after, to give us enough time. I think we did a Saturday last year. (for the noobs, round tabling basically entails sending each poem submitted around the circle and each of us signs off yes or no. more details will be given when it actually happens and what not). The week following the 8th will also probably involve sending out notices to those accepted, informing them that they are indeed accepted.

The 22nd, we HAVE to have all our copies of this years magazine. The days leading up to the 29th will be planning the actual RogueNight.

THEN BAM, 29th is it. And it will be amazing because we will make it so.

I'm pretty sure those dates are all correct but if they aren't or I forgot some, holla.

This weekend, however, we all need to focus on just on posters. They need to have the following information:
Rogue is accepting submissions
Submit to the Rogue box in Easter room
Box opens the 14th and closes 25th at the end of the school day
Legible writing/typed
Appropriate content
No longer than 30 lines, I believe it is? Yes? No?
I think that's it?

Should we have a number for everyone? Fair to say we should make at least 20 each? We need to PLASTER the hallways, fo sho.

At some point we need to get an announcement detailing all of this on the intercom in as well.

Also, how do we want them to submit? To make our mock up easier I'm thinking some sort of limit of space. Like, __inches by __inches. Just to make things easier on us? I don't know. THOUGHTS? I mean, we COULD make actual forms, but the problem would be time, because we'd have to have them for Monday...

Right. Sorry this is so friggin long. I tried to remember everything we talked about, but I probably forget some things, so post things as you guys think of them...

A'ight.
